Yangshuo is a picturesque tourist destination near Guilin, China, in the heart of beautiful mountain ranges. Situated on the banks of the world-famous Li River, Yangshuo has some of the most beautiful scenery in the world.

How to Get There

By Air – There is no airport in Yangshuo; the closest airport is Guilin Liangjiang International Airport, located in Guilin. Daily flights from Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Beijing will make visiting Yangshuo easy for a peaceful getaway.

Taxi From Guilin – Another method of traveling to Yangshuo is to take a taxi from Guilin. This can sometimes be a rather costly method of travel, but if you arrange with your hotel’s concierge to have a driving service pick you up, you may get an affordable rate.

By Bus / Train – There are many bus services between Guilin and Yangshuo, and they are typically very affordable. Just be sure to check the bus schedules, and remember that buses traveling from the airport very often don’t depart until the bus is completely filled up. If you are traveling from Shenzhen, you’ll find it easy to hop on an overnight train for a 12-hour ride to Guilin.

River Cruise From Guilin – Enjoy the majestic Li River by taking a boat from Guilin down to Yangshuo. Boat rides can be much more expensive than bus services and take much longer, but the scenery offered along the trip is unmatched in beauty.

Best time to visit Yangshuo

The best time to visit Yangshuo is during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) seasons. These months offer pleasant weather with mild temperatures and less rainfall, allowing you to enjoy the area’s natural beauty fully.

During Spring – The landscape is adorned with blooming flowers and lush greenery, creating a picturesque atmosphere. The temperatures are comfortable, ranging from around 59°F to 77°F (15°C to 25°C).

In Autumn – The weather is also mild, and the foliage turns vibrant with autumn colors, providing stunning views of the surrounding karst mountains and the Li River—temperatures during this season range from approximately 59°F to 82°F (15°C to 28°C).

Both spring and autumn are popular among tourists for outdoor activities, such as hiking, cruising along the Li River, and exploring the scenic spots in Yangshuo. It’s advisable to check the weather forecast and plan your visit accordingly to ensure the best experience.
